Several events were held in the Institute to mark Proclamation Day on March 15th. The reading of the Proclamation at the entrance to the college started off events which included music, song, and recitals. This was followed by a film installation and drama performances in the afternoon of popular stage melodramas from the time of the Rising by students from Performing Arts, as well as excerpts from the play The Plough and the Stars.The evening finished with talks by two guest lecturers on the topics on gender representation over the last one hundred years on and off stage and the influence of The Plough and the Stars.
