Young Archaeologists Conference at IT Sligo

The Association of Young Archaeologists of Ireland (AYAI) are holding their annual conference in IT Sligo this weekend from 28th -30th March.

Papers to be presented cover a wide area of archaeological interest from research on the local archaeological site of Knocknarea to international sites of the Iberian Peninsula and Siberia.

Archaeology Ireland

The winter issue of Archaeology Ireland features an article by Dr Marion Dowd (School of Science) on the contribution of non-archaeologists to the field of archaeology, in particular that of Jack Coleman.
Coleman, from Co. Cork, was an avid caver for nearly forty years and his field notes and research are of great importance for Irish Speleology and archaeology.
The article is available from Archaeology Ireland, Winter 2013, vol.27 no.4 on display in  the Science journals shelving area of the Information Zone.
