New homes for old books - Better World Books

Better World Books is a type B Corporation which "uses the power of books to solve social and environmental problems".
This is achieved by reselling discarded or donated books and using the funds to support international literacy programs.

Yeats Library is one of 4,000 libraries, colleges and bookstores using Better World Books as a sustainable method for dealing with discarded books while also supporting literacy initiatives worldwide.
This week seven more boxes of discarded books were sent from the library to Better World Books to find new homes and contribute towards literacy.

Charity Book Donations

Time to do a Spring clean of your book collection?

For the month of March, the Yeats Library is hosting a drop box for book donations in association with Oxfam Ireland's Clear Ur Books campaign. Oxfam will accept donations of all types of books both fiction and non-fiction, as long as they are in good condition.
The drop box is located beside the library information desk.
So clear some space and donate for charity!
