The Yeats International Summer School 2013 hosted one of their afternoon
forums in IT Sligo yesterday. The
forum on Yeats’s A Vision
included international speakers Neil Mann, Berg Collection
of English and American Literature at the New York Public Library; Matthew Gibson, Associate Professor of English Literature at the
University of Macau in Southern China; Alex Davies,
Professor of English at University College Cork; and Meg Harper, Glucksman Professor of Contemporary Writing
in English at the University of Limerick, all pictured here with Institute Librarian Jim Foran.
An Exhibition of Yeats Family items from the Library
Special Collections were displayed in the Social Zone prior to the
forum. These included first edition
publications by W.B. Yeats and artwork and published material by Jack B. Yeats.
A selection of art books and catalogues belonging to Anne Yeats, including
several signed copies were also exhibited and over 70 publications from Cuala
Press, formerly owned by Elizabeth (Lolly) Yeats.
