Oiche na Samhna, the 1st of November is traditionally when we remember the deceased and is also known as All Hallows. The 31st October is All Hallows Eve or more commonly known as Halloween which is associated with all that is ghostly and ghoulish. The vampire character of Dracula features prominently at this time of year. His creator Bram Stoker was from Dublin but his mother Charlotte Matilda Blake Thornley
