Today is the birthday of W.B.Yeats and Sligo is playing host to a variety of events from Dawn to Dusk to mark the occasion. One of the events is an exhibtion in the Pollexfen Building, Wine Street which has on display works by Yeats from the National Library of Ireland, Fáilte Ireland and Yeats Library Special Collections.
There is also a display by 3rd year IT Sligo Interior Architecture students of a project they completed on the redesign of the actual Pollexfen Building.
The exhibition runs from June13th-15th.

IMPAC Dublin Literary Award
Congratulations to author Kevin Barry on winning the prestigious IMPAC Literary Award in Dublin this week for his first novel City of Bohane. The novel is set in the furturistic city of Bohane along the west coast of Ireland, a once reveered but now much troubled and divided city struggling with tribal rivalry.
Titles for the IMPAC Award are nominated by international libraries based on users preferences and is worth €100,000. Kevin who is originally from Limerick, now resides in Sligo.
